The problem with the numbering system is that it wasn't designed to accomodate varieties very well and there are a lot of unassigned numbers. Unitrade includes a lot of varieties that Scott does not recognize, so these are listed in Unitrade as "i"'s so as not to interfere with Scott. But the problem is that they are added as they are discovered.
